KICKS OF A DYING HORSE; THE MUSINGS OF Z ALLAN NTATA

Funny how life is a chameleon huh? But who does not know that life is like a game, where you win and you lose the other hour. Perhaps Arsene Wenger understands this, he loses and he wins, nonetheless, he always remains confident about himself.
Z Allan Ntata is a previous advisor to the fallen Bingu WA Mutharika. Z Allan Ntata was part of the team that tried to prevent JB from assuming power. Z Allan Ntata is the man who went to do his PhD soon after the demise of the late Bingu WA Mutharika. Z Allan Ntata is the man who used intellect in trying to convince the then cabinet that it was possible to prevent JB from taking over the presidency. Z Allan Ntata is the man who has come back from the UK after completing his “PhD”. On that I must say congratulations.
I am an ardent follower of Allan and he inspires me a lot. But one thing I did not know about Allan is that he is like life itself, changing colors like a chameleon. This I did not know. And then there is one thing I know, Allan just like any other politician in Malawi has his personal agenda first and not necessarily that of the nation at large.
Now what with the musings? Yes it is very true and mind moving to a wise Malawian to note that all the issues being raised by Mr. Ntata hold a lot of water. If such truth were to be realized by all Malawians, we could have all woken up from slumber and claimed what belongs to us.
Kicks of a dying horse they are. It does have to take a political observer to notice that Z Allan Ntata is doing all he is out of frustration and lack of direction. For once his political career is in jeopardy and he needs to get it straight up. His choice is through siding with the commoner, pretending to be one of us.
But what we all know is Z Allan Ntata is a politician.
In an article posted on his Facebook page on the 27th of January 2014, Z Allan Ntata attacked the MCP, UDF and  PP under the title “MCP and Lazarus Chakwera: Political arrogance or electoral confidence?”. In the article it is very clear that Mr. Ntata is purely DPP although his dilly dallies with vocabulary prove otherwise; that he is neutral.
The question is what happened? Perhaps, this is where the whole story starts before we judge Mr. Ntata. Perhaps he needs to tell us why his sudden change of heart. For we know Z Allan Ntata criticized JB heavily. We are also aware that Z Allan Ntata has never liked the MCP. Lastly we also know that he is anti UDF. What happened? Is it to do with the cake? Does he not know how it tastes? Perhaps the answer is yes, and it is this taste that draws him back to the Political arena even after his floury educational qualifications.
There is a saying in Chichewa that says “mwana akabwila shuga samafuna kusiya” which literally translates to when a child tastes sugar, they never wish to stop. When the sugar is hidden, it is obvious that they start labeling the parent or the elder one as a monster (or others would say a puppet i.e. in the case of the mother who listens to the father to keep sugar away).
We all want sugar. But using others to get what we want is not always a wise idea.
Lastly, let me commend Mr. Z Allan Ntata for the good job he is doing. I believe that whatever he is saying is in Ernest. What’s more surprising is why he was in hiding when we needed him most. What’s even more surprising again is why Z Allan Ntata has taken a whopping 10 months to come in the open. Were you waiting for something?
