A SEQUEL; WHY I NEVER WROTE POLY AND THE ART OF IMPUNITY PART 2

One of my readers commented on one of my entries, “Poly and the art of impunity, part 1” (http://www.chikondisato.blogspot.com/2015/09/poly-and-art-of-impunity-part-1.html). He said the arguments I raised did not fully substantiate my line of argument. As a writer, I couldn’t argue more, I asked him to read the title of that entry; it clearly stated that the entry was part 1 of a series I had embarked on. Yes it was part 1 and I couldn’t expect to raise everything in it, rather I wanted it to build up. But now as per my plan, I choose to abandon the series that never was. So here I am, with my notebook computer on my working table. As usual I am reading new and old stuff from my favourite writers. Zebedee, Ephraim Munthali, George Kasakula, Levi Manda, Madalitso Mussa and Innocent Chitosi, in that order. I must confess that every time I read their columns, my mind opens up to new ideas. MALAWI NOT A FAILED STATE YET

Malawi is not a failed state yet. But it could become one not in many months to come. Now that the Malawian kwacha is being punched heavy blows by the US Dollar and losing its teeth on by one, we should start asking ourselve

Slightly over a month ago, Poly was closed. Slightly less than 2 months of closure, the college is poised to open for its third semester of the calendar year on 5 th October. Quite a record. It’s only in Malawi where you can have three academic semesters in one calendar year. Some cornestones we could embrace But the closure is history now, and most students are looking forward to the opening, the future. So too are parents and guardians, lecturers and other stakeholders. It’s time that the students found lasting solutions to their problems. You know what sweet mortals , it is the students who have a problem because the administration has a problem. So, plainly speaking, who then has a genuine problem? Your guess is not as bad as mine. Intelligent mortals, Poly has a problem and it is called impunity. The feeling that you can do anything and get away with it. The feeling of lack of responsibility and patriotism. Truth be told, there are two warring factions at the P
